Situated in the unspoilt hamlet of Thornton Hough, the 4-star hotel has been stylishly extended to offer all modern comforts but still retains some striking original features, such as oak carvings and ornate ceilings.
The hotel boasts one of finest health clubs in the region, open to both residents and non-residents. It includes: a stunning 20-metre indoor pool (no children under 6 years); hi-tech gym; spa pool; steam and sauna rooms; an exterior hot tub; and a full range of beauty treatments.
For weddings, facilities include a licence for civil ceremonies, both inside the hotel and outside in the new garden, Pagoda.
The hotel provides a full range of conference and banqueting options, accommodating from 2 to 200 delegates, and up to 500 delegates in the purpose built conference and function centre.

The 63 en suite bedrooms are mainly situated in the new wing and have a modern, contemporary feel.
This spacious room includes: a fruit bowl, mineral water, upgraded toiletries and upgraded tea and coffee facilities. The rooms are found on both the ground and first floor; ground floor rooms boast a terrace leading directly onto the gardens, whilst first floor rooms have a balcony overlooking the gardens.
The Italian Room Restaurant:
With an AA Rosette and 2 RAC dining awards, this restaurant provides a choice of menus for lunch and dinner, serving superb international cuisine, complemented by an extensive selection of wines from around the world. The Restaurant was the Billiard Room of Thornton Hall and retains the charm and décor of a traditional English country house, with features such as its original Italian leather ceiling, embossed with Mother of Pearl, an elaborate fire place, and beautiful oak panelling.
The Times Restaurant:
A modern, contemporary place to meet and eat, the Times Restaurant serves a menu with a Mediterranean feel to the menu.
The Italian Bar:
The main hotel bar area serves an ‘all day menu’ from 11:00 to 23:00. It is an informal option, offering anything from a snack to a 3 course meal but in the relaxed surroundings of the bar, overlooking the extensive gardens.
Room Service is also available 24 hours a day.
By Car:
From the M53:
- Exit at junction 4.
- Join the B5151, signposted Willaston/Neston.
- Continue for approximately half a mile.
- Turn right onto the B5136, signposted for Thornton Hough/Neston.
- Continue through Thornton Hough Village.
- You will find the hotel on the left-hand side.
From the M6:
- Exit at junction 20.
- Join the M56.
- Exit at junction 15.
- Join the M53, making sure that you follow the Ellesmere Port/Birkenhead signs.
- Then, as above.
From Manchester Airport:
- Join the M56 at junction 5, signposted North Wales/Chester.
- Then, follow directions as from the M53.
From Liverpool:
- Take the Kingsway Tunnel onto the M53.
- Take junction 4 and follow directions as from the M53.
From Chester:
- Take the A540 to Heswall.
- Follow this road for approximately 10 miles.
- Turn right onto the B5136, signposted Thornton Hough.
- Follow this road for approximately one mile and you will find the hotel on the right.
